Day 3
by seftiri (seftiri)
at November 3rd, 2009 (10:54 pm)

Well, I'm behind.  Way behind.

This doesn't surprise me nor does it bother me at the moment.

I keep falling asleep in my chair because it is 8:30pm or later when I sit down to write.  I'll have to work on that.  Plus, I've been working hard at the clinic and trying to squeeze other things into my schedule.

I will work on paring it down.  Also, I will work on sending snippets to myself from work during the day.  An easy way to add to my word count.

3002 / 50000 words. 6% done!

There just isn't enough time in the day for everything I need to get done.  I have some good ideas about how to work on changing that.

I'll let you know what works and what doesn't.

First idea: get someone else to clean my apartment for me so I don't have to worry about it.

See you tomorrow!

Apparently it is necessary to put in a few lines of arbitrary text (or learn more advanced HTML tags, one of the two) in order for my widget thingy to appear in its entirety. So this text here is that text. Okay, moving on....

Oh, for Heaven's sake....

1768 / 50000 words. 4% done!

First day stats!

My novel is (so far) called Shadows of the Immaculate and is a post-apocalyptic response to environmental collapse on Earth and how that affects procreation amongst humans.  There are also religio-political aspects to be considered and a love story.  I hope that this will actually become a trilogy, but I am just working on book one for NaNoWriMo.

I will post excerpts or the entirety of what I've written once a week (I am still in the decision making process.

I will post daily progress reports and commentary daily.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Short Story: Submission

So, I recently entered the Machine of Death Short Story contest.  It was a fascinating concept and you can read about it here.  Today I got my rejection slip so I thought, since now I had permission, I would post it here for all of you to enjoy.

Let me know what you think!  I'd love feedback.  :)

Short Story: Homecoming
by seftiri (seftiri)
at May 8th, 2006 (06:28 pm)
Playing on the Mood Swings:: accomplished
What Euterpe is Playing:: John Fogerty--Centerfield

This short story was written in response to an assignment given me by Tiff.

My prompts were to use the words 'share' and 'match', to have it located on a small pier, and to have someone say "What would they say?"  This is a first draft of the result.

I believe the piece can be expanded quite a lot and have requested that it be put back into rotation for me to expand later.  I will post all additional versions of it here for review.

If you have any constructive criticism for me on this one, please share it.  I welcome the opportunity to improve my writing.
